BIOGRAPHY

From analogue beginnings to Sea of Suns.

Sea of Suns is the solo project of musician Dave Panter, exploring the bright, nostalgic realms of synth-pop, lounge and downtempo music. Inspired by 1970s public information films and hazy childhood summer holidays, Dave's work blends retro warmth with modern electronic experimentation.

His musical journey began at 15, making music with a couple of Casio CZ keyboards, a Roland drum machine and a Jen SX1000 mono synth. He later moved into bass guitar and indie music before returning to electronic music under the moniker Dumi in the late 1990s.

Around 1999 Dave joined the analogue-synth collective WeirdGear, contributing to the Coffee Girl EP and Aurora LP. Sea of Suns brings those early ambient-techno experiments together with evocative retro-electronic textures.
